1 Baking sheet
1 Mixing bowl
1 Small saucepan
1 Pastry brush
- 1 package - 16 ounce frozen bread dough, thawed
- 1/4 cup butter - melted
- 2 cloves garlic - minced
- 1 tablespoon fresh parsley - chopped
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly grease a baking sheet.
Knead the thawed bread dough for a minute or two. Divide the dough into 12 equal pieces.
Roll each piece into a rope about 8 inches long. Tie each rope into a knot.
Place the knots on the prepared baking sheet, leaving some space between them.
In a small saucepan, melt the butter over low heat. Stir in the minced garlic, chopped parsley, and salt.
Brush the garlic butter mixture generously over the top of each garlic knot.
Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until golden brown and cooked through.
Serve warm.
For extra flavor, you can add a pinch of onion powder to the garlic butter mixture. If you don't have fresh parsley, dried parsley can be used, but you'll need less (about 1 teaspoon). These garlic knots are best served warm, straight from the oven. They can be reheated gently in a low oven for a few minutes.
Variations:
- Add a sprinkle of Parmesan cheese to the garlic butter before baking for cheesy garlic knots.
- Mix in a pinch of red pepper flakes for a touch of heat.
Tips and Tricks:
- Ensure your dough is proofed sufficiently for the best texture.
- Don't overbake, as this can make the knots dry.
