Equipment

  • 1 Skillet
  • 1 Mixing bowl
  • 1 Taco Shells

Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef - for a richer flavor, use ground chuck
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil - to enhance browning
  • 1 small onion - diced (for sweetness and texture)
  • 2 cloves garlic - minced (for depth of flavor)
  • 1 tablespoon chili powder - for spice
  • 1 teaspoon cumin - for earthiness
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika - for smokiness
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper - for extra heat
  • Salt and pepper to taste - to balance flavors
  • 8 small corn tortillas - for traditional texture
  • 1 cup lettuce - shredded (for crunch)
  • 1/2 cup tomato - diced (for freshness)
  • 1/2 cup cheddar cheese - shredded (for creaminess)
  • 1 avocado - sliced (for creaminess and healthy fats)
  • Sour cream - as desired (for tang)

Instructions

  • Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add diced onion and sauté until translucent.
  • Add minced garlic and ground beef to the skillet. Cook until beef is browned, breaking it up with a spoon.
  • Stir in chili powder, cumin, paprika, cayenne pepper, salt, and pepper. Cook for another 2-3 minutes.
  • Warm corn tortillas in a separate pan or microwave until pliable.
  • Assemble tacos by placing beef mixture on each tortilla and topping with lettuce, tomato, cheese, avocado, and sour cream.
  • Serve immediately and enjoy!

Notes

Feel free to customize your toppings with your favorite ingredients like guacamole, cheese, or salsa.
For a twist, try using ground turkey or chicken instead of beef.
These tacos are best served immediately, but leftovers can be stored in the fridge for up to 2 days.
