1/2cup100g sugar (can substitute with honey or other sweeteners)
2tablespoons30ml soy sauce
1tablespoon15g cornstarch mixed with 2 tablespoons (30ml) water (for thickening)
2tablespoons30g chili flakes (adjust to taste)
1clove3g garlic, minced
Instructions
In a medium saucepan, combine the water, rice vinegar, sugar, soy sauce, chili flakes, and minced garlic. Stir well to combine.
Bring the mixture to a boil over medium-high heat, stirring occasionally.
Once it starts to boil, reduce the heat to low.
Add the cornstarch slurry while constantly whisking until the sauce thickens, about 1-2 minutes.
Remove from heat and let it cool before transferring to a glass jar for storage.
