Equipment

  • Baking sheet
  • Mixing bowl

Ingredients

  • 2 cups cooked chickpeas - canned or soaked and cooked
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground coriander
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper - optional, for heat
  • Salt to taste

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 200°C (400°F) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • In a mixing bowl, combine the cooked chickpeas, olive oil, ground cumin, paprika, ground coriander, garlic powder, cayenne pepper (if using), and salt. Toss until the chickpeas are evenly coated with the spice mixture.
  • Spread the seasoned chickpeas in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet.
  • Roast in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, stirring halfway through, until the chickpeas are crispy and golden brown.
  • Remove from the oven and let the chickpeas cool slightly before serving.
  • Enjoy the spiced chickpeas as a snack on their own, or use them as a topping for salads, soups, or grain bowls.

Notes

Feel free to customize the spice blend according to your taste preferences. You can experiment with different spices such as chili powder, turmeric, or smoked paprika.
Store any leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days. Reheat in the oven for a few minutes to regain crispiness, if desired.
