Ingredients
  

  • 4 pounds 1.8 kg pork shoulder (or butt) (bone-in or boneless, trim excess fat)
  • 1 tablespoon 15g salt (to taste)
  • 1 tablespoon 15g black pepper (to taste)
  • 1 tablespoon 15g smoked paprika (adds depth of flavor)
  • 1 tablespoon 15g garlic powder (for a savory touch)
  • 1 tablespoon 15g onion powder (for sweetness)
  • 1 teaspoon 5g cayenne pepper (optional, for heat)
  • 1 cup 240ml BBQ sauce (your choice of flavor)
  • 1/2 cup 120ml apple cider vinegar (to tenderize and flavor)
  • 1 tablespoon 15g Worcestershire sauce (enhances savory flavor)
  • 1 onion - sliced, for additional flavor and moisture

Instructions
 

  • In a mixing bowl, combine salt, pepper, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, and cayenne pepper. Rub the spice mixture all over the pork shoulder.
  • Place the sliced onions at the bottom of the slow cooker. Add the seasoned pork shoulder on top.
  • In a separate bowl, mix together the BBQ sauce, apple cider vinegar, and Worcestershire sauce. Pour this mixture over the pork.
  • Cover the slow cooker and cook on low for 8 hours, or on high for 4 hours, until the pork is fork-tender.
  • Remove the pork from the slow cooker and shred it using two forks. Return the shredded pork to the cooker, mixing with the remaining sauce.
  • Serve warm on buns, tacos, or over rice, and enjoy your delicious pulled pork!
