Ingredients
  

  • 2 duck breasts
  • Salt and pepper
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1/2 cup orange juice
  • 1 tablespoon orange zest
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
  • 2 cloves of garlic - minced
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions
 

  • Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C).
  • Heat a skillet over medium-high heat and add olive oil.
  • Season the duck breasts with salt and pepper on both sides, then place them in the heated skillet, skin side down.
  • Cook for 5 minutes on each side until the skin is crispy and golden brown.
  • Transfer the duck breasts to a baking dish and bake in the oven for 10 minutes.
  • While the duck is baking, melt butter in the skillet used to cook the duck.
  • Add honey, orange juice, orange zest, Dijon mustard, and minced garlic to the skillet and whisk until well combined.
  • Let the sauce simmer for 5 minutes until it thickens.
  • Remove the duck breasts from the oven and let them rest for 5 minutes.
  • Slice the duck breast into thin slices and serve with the orange sauce.
  • Season with salt and pepper to taste.

Notes

You can also use chicken or pork instead of duck for this recipe.
For a more intense orange flavor, squeeze some fresh orange juice into the sauce before serving.
