Equipment

  • 1 large sauté pan
  • 1 wooden spoon
  • 1 cutting board
  • 1 sharp knife
  • 1 medium bowl
  • 1 small skillet

Ingredients
  

  • 1 lb haricot verts - French green beans, trimmed
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 cloves of garlic - minced
  • Salt and pepper - to taste
  • 1/4 cup slivered almonds

Instructions
 

  • In a large sauté pan, heat olive oil over medium-high heat.
  • Add minced garlic and sauté for 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
  • Add haricot verts and sauté for 5-6 minutes, stirring occasionally, until they are slightly charred and tender.
  • Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  • In a small skillet toast the slivered almonds over medium heat for 3-4 minutes, stirring frequently. Make sure not to burn them.
  • Remove the almonds from the heat and sprinkle over the sauteed haricot verts.
  • Toss everything together and serve immediately.

Notes

For added flavor, you can use garlic-infused olive oil.
If you can't find haricot verts, regular green beans will work too.
For a variation, you can top the dish with some grated parmesan cheese before serving.
