In a large sauté pan, heat olive oil over medium-high heat.
Add minced garlic and sauté for 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
Add haricot verts and sauté for 5-6 minutes, stirring occasionally, until they are slightly charred and tender.
Season with salt and pepper to taste.
In a small skillet toast the slivered almonds over medium heat for 3-4 minutes, stirring frequently. Make sure not to burn them.
Remove the almonds from the heat and sprinkle over the sauteed haricot verts.
Toss everything together and serve immediately.
Notes
For added flavor, you can use garlic-infused olive oil.If you can't find haricot verts, regular green beans will work too.For a variation, you can top the dish with some grated parmesan cheese before serving.
