Ingredients
  

  • 2 cups milk
  • 1/4 cup cocoa powder
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • Whipped cream - optional
  • Cinnamon sticks - optional

Instructions
 

  • In a small pot, heat the milk over medium heat until warm.
  • Whisk in the cocoa powder, sugar, and cinnamon until well combined.
  • Continue to heat until the hot chocolate is steaming and hot (do not boil).
  • Pour into mugs and top with whipped cream and a sprinkle of cocoa powder or cinnamon sticks, if desired.
  • Serve hot and enjoy!

Notes

For a richer hot chocolate, use half and half or heavy cream instead of milk.
For a spicier hot chocolate, add a pinch of cayenne pepper or a dash of chili powder.
If you prefer a thinner consistency, use less cocoa powder and sugar.
