Instructions
 

  • In a medium saucepan, combine the honey, soy sauce, apple cider vinegar, ketchup, garlic powder, onion powder, and black pepper.
  • Whisk the ingredients together until well blended.
  • Heat the mixture over medium heat until it starts to bubble gently. Allow it to simmer for about 5-10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  • If you prefer a thicker sauce, mix the cornstarch with water and add it to the sauce, stirring continuously until it thickens.
  • Remove from heat and let it cool slightly before using or storing.

Notes

This sauce can be stored in the refrigerator for up to a week.
For a spicier version, consider adding red pepper flakes or a dash of sriracha.
You can adjust the sweetness by varying the amount of honey to your taste or even using maple syrup for a different flavor profile.
