Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup water - for the dough
  • 1/2 cup butter - unsalted
  • 1 cup gluten-free all-purpose flour - ensure it has xanthan gum
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt - to enhance flavor
  • 3 large eggs - to bind the dough
  • 1 cup sugar - for coating
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon - for flavor

Instructions
 

  • In a saucepan, combine water and butter; heat until boiling. Remove from heat.
  • Stir in gluten-free flour and salt until the mixture forms a ball.
  • Allow the dough to cool slightly, then add eggs, one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  • Heat oil in a frying pan over medium heat.
  • Transfer dough to a pastry bag and pipe 4-6 inch lengths directly into hot oil.
  • Fry until golden brown, then remove with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels.
  • In a bowl, mix sugar and cinnamon; roll churros in the mixture and serve warm.

Notes

For variations, you can fill churros with chocolate or caramel sauce.
Feel free to substitute sugar with coconut sugar for a healthier option.
To achieve the perfect texture, use a pastry bag with a star tip.
