In a large skillet, heat vegetable oil over medium-high heat.
Working in batches, coat the calamari rings in the flour mixture and shake off any excess. Place them in the hot oil and fry for about 2-3 minutes or until golden brown.
Using tongs, remove the calamari from the oil and place them on a baking sheet lined with paper towels to absorb any excess oil.
Serve the fried calamari hot with the lemon aioli on the side for dipping.
