Equipment

  • 1 blender
  • 1 cocktail shaker
  • 2 glasses
  • Ice

Ingredients

  • 1 cup watermelon - chopped
  • 1 small cucumber - peeled and chopped
  • 1/4 cup tequila
  • 1/4 cup triple sec
  • 1/4 cup lime juice
  • 1 tablespoon agave nectar
  • Salt - optional
  • Lime wedges for garnish

Instructions

  • In a blender, puree the watermelon and cucumber until smooth. Strain through a fine-mesh sieve and discard any solids.
  • In a cocktail shaker, combine the watermelon cucumber juice, tequila, triple sec, lime juice, and agave nectar. Shake well.
  • Rim two glasses with salt (if desired). Fill the glasses with ice.
  • Pour the margarita mixture over the ice, dividing it evenly between the two glasses.
  • Garnish with a lime wedge and serve immediately.

Notes

For a more intense watermelon flavor, use a seedless watermelon or strain the juice through a cheesecloth to remove all the seeds.
For a non-alcoholic version, omit the tequila and triple sec and add in 1/4 cup of sparkling water or lemon-lime soda.
Try adding in a few jalapeño slices for a spicy kick to your margarita!
