Equipment

  • 1 espresso machine or stovetop espresso maker
  • 1 ice cream scoop
  • 1 small glass or cup
  • 1 spoon
  • 1 small saucepan (if using stovetop method)

Ingredients
  

  • 1 shot of hot espresso
  • 1 scoop of vanilla ice cream

Instructions
 

  • If using an espresso machine, pull a shot of espresso. If using a stovetop espresso maker, follow the instructions on the package to make a shot of espresso.
  • While the espresso is still hot, scoop the ice cream into a small glass or cup.
  • Pour the hot espresso over the ice cream, covering it completely.
  • Using a spoon, gently stir the ice cream and espresso together.
  • Serve immediately and enjoy!

Notes

For a twist on the classic, try using different flavors of ice cream, such as chocolate or caramel.
For a spiked version, pour a shot of your favorite liqueur over the ice cream before adding the espresso.
Instead of using hot espresso, try using cold brew coffee for a stronger, rich flavor.
