Equipment

  • 1 Medium saucepan
  • 1 Serving bowl
  • 1 Spoon

Ingredients

  • 1 cup rolled oats - use gluten-free oats for a gluten-free option
  • 2 cups water - or milk of choice, for creaminess
  • 2 tablespoons cocoa powder - for rich chocolate flavor
  • 2 tablespoons chocolate hazelnut spread - for sweetness and creaminess
  • 1/4 cup chopped hazelnuts - for crunch
  • 1 tablespoon honey or maple syrup - optional, for added sweetness
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract - for aroma and flavor
  • A pinch of salt - to enhance flavor

Instructions

  • In a medium saucepan, bring the water (or milk) to a boil.
  • Add the rolled oats and a pinch of salt. Stir, reduce heat to medium, and cook for about 5 minutes, or until the oats are soft and creamy.
  • Once cooked, remove from heat and stir in the cocoa powder, chocolate hazelnut spread, honey/maple syrup, and vanilla extract until well combined.
  • Serve the oats in bowls, topped with chopped hazelnuts and an extra drizzle of chocolate hazelnut spread if desired.

Notes

For a creamier bowl, use milk or a milk alternative instead of water.
Add fresh fruits like bananas or berries for an extra burst of flavor and nutrients.
To make it vegan, ensure the chocolate used is dairy-free.
For a crunchier texture, lightly toast the hazelnuts before adding to the oats.
