Ingredients
  

  • 12 large strawberries
  • 8 oz semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 tbsp vegetable oil
  • Optional toppings: chopped nuts - melted white chocolate, sprinkles, coconut flakes, etc.

Instructions
 

  • Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • Rinse the strawberries and pat them dry with a paper towel.
  • In a small saucepan, melt the chocolate chips and vegetable oil over low heat, stirring constantly until smooth.
  • Remove the saucepan from heat and let the chocolate cool for a few minutes.
  • Holding each strawberry by the stem, dip it into the melted chocolate, coating it completely.
  • Use a small fork to gently tap off any excess chocolate.
  • Place the chocolate covered strawberries onto the prepared baking sheet.
  • Repeat steps 5-7 until all strawberries are coated in chocolate.
  • If desired, add toppings to the strawberries while the chocolate is still wet.
  • Let the chocolate set at room temperature for about 15 minutes, or place the baking sheet in the fridge for quicker setting.
  • Serve and enjoy your delicious chocolate covered strawberries!

Notes

For a healthier option, use dark chocolate instead of semi-sweet chocolate.
You can also use white chocolate instead of semi-sweet for a sweeter treat.
Get creative with toppings, such as drizzling melted white chocolate over the strawberries or rolling them in chopped nuts for added texture.
If you don't have a toothpick, you can use a fork to hold onto the strawberries while dipping them in chocolate.
