Ingredients
  

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour - plus extra for dusting
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder - for leavening
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt - to taste
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter - cold, cut into small pieces
  • 1 cup sharp cheddar cheese - shredded
  • 1 cup cooked bacon - chopped into small pieces
  • 3/4 cup milk - whole or buttermilk

Instructions
 

  • Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
  • Cut in the cold butter using a pastry cutter or fork until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  • Fold in the shredded cheddar cheese and chopped bacon until distributed evenly.
  • Pour in the milk and stir until just combined. Do not overmix.
  • Turn the dough out onto a floured surface and gently knead it a few times until it comes together.
  • Roll the dough to about 1-inch thickness, then cut out biscuits using a biscuit cutter or a glass.
  • Place the biscuits onto the prepared baking sheet and bake for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown.
  • Remove from the oven and serve warm. Enjoy your delicious bacon and cheddar breakfast biscuits!

Notes

For variations, you can substitute bacon with diced ham or sausage. Try using different cheese varieties like pepper jack for a spicy kick!
These biscuits are best served warm. You may also chill the dough before baking for a firmer texture.
