Serving and Pairing Suggestions:

For the ultimate chicken experience, serve this yummy Cap Crunch Chicken with some Sweet Potato Fries for that perfect combo of crunch and sweetness. Or top it with a drizzle of Sriracha Mayo for an extra kick.

If you’re in the mood for something fresh, consider a refreshing side of Spinach and Pomegranate Salad, that way you’ve got a balance of flavors on your plate. And don’t forget to wash it all down with some Watermelon Sangria! It’s the cherry on top of an awesome meal!

Tips and Notes:

  • Cereal Choices: Use Cap’n Crunch (original is great!), but feel free to mix it up with other sweet cereals. Just remember, the crunchier, the better!
  • Double the Crunch: Try a double coating method – dip the chicken in egg wash, coat it in cereal, then dip it in egg and coat again for an extra crunchy experience.
  • Storage: Store leftover chicken in an airtight container in the fridge. Reheat in the oven to keep that crunch alive instead of sticking it in the microwave!

Now, gather your ingredients and let’s make some flavor-packed Planet Hollywood Cap Crunch Chicken that’ll have everyone asking for seconds!

Equipment

  • 1 Food processor
  • 1 Shallow pan
  • 1 Deep fryer

Ingredients

  • 2 cups Cap’n Crunch cereal - crushed but with some chunks
  • 6 large eggs - beaten
  • 2 cups corn flakes - for additional crunch
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour - for dredging
  • 25 to 30 chicken tenders - trimmed and cleaned
  • 3 tablespoons granulated onion - for seasoning
  • Vegetable oil - for deep frying
  • 3 tablespoons granulated garlic - adds flavor
  • 1 tablespoon pepper - for seasoning

Instructions

  • In a food processor, grind the Cap’n Crunch and corn flakes until crumbly but some 1/8-inch chunks are still visible. Spread the mixture in a shallow pan.
  • In a bowl, combine the flour, granulated onion, granulated garlic, and pepper. Mix well to distribute the seasonings.
  • In another bowl, combine the beaten eggs and milk, mixing well.
  • Dredge each chicken tender in the seasoned flour mixture, ensuring it’s well coated. Dip the coated chicken tenders in the egg mixture, then dredge them in the cereal mixture, ensuring they are thoroughly coated.
  • Arrange the coated chicken tenders on wax paper while you preheat the oil.
  • Preheat oil in a deep fryer to 325 degrees F (163 degrees C).
  • Deep fry the chicken tenders in batches for about 3 1/2 minutes or until they are golden brown. Drain on paper towels before serving.

Notes

For a lighter version, try baking instead of frying! Simply spray the coated chicken with cooking spray and bake at 400°F for 20-25 minutes.
You can use any type of cereal for coating, but the sweet and crunchy Cap’n Crunch pairs wonderfully with the savory flavors.
If you prefer a spicier kick, add a pinch of cayenne pepper to the flour mixture!
