This dish is perfect for entertaining, as it’s both visually stunning and incredibly delicious. It’s easy to prepare yet sophisticated enough to impress your guests.

How to Serve?

Serve Baked Brie with Fig Jam and Walnuts warm from the oven, placed on a stylish serving platter. Surround the Brie with an assortment of crackers, sliced baguette, or fresh fruit for a complete presentation.

Drizzle with a little honey for extra sweetness and garnish with fresh rosemary or thyme for a touch of color and aroma. This appetizer pairs wonderfully with a glass of sparkling wine or a light, fruity white wine.

How to Pair?

Baked Brie with Fig Jam and Walnuts pairs beautifully with a variety of accompaniments and beverages.

Consider serving it alongside a charcuterie board with cured meats, olives, and dried fruits to complement the creamy cheese. Fresh grapes, apple slices, or pear slices also make excellent pairings.

For drinks, a crisp Champagne or Prosecco enhances the flavors, while a Pinot Noir or a light Chardonnay complements the richness of the Brie.

Some Notes About the Recipe

  • Brie Selection: Choose a high-quality, ripe Brie cheese. A wheel of Brie that is about 8-12 ounces works well for this recipe.
  • Fig Jam: Use a good quality fig jam for the best flavor. You can also make your own by simmering dried figs with a bit of sugar and water until thickened.
  • Walnuts: Toast the walnuts lightly in a dry skillet to enhance their flavor and crunch before adding them to the Brie.
  • Baking Tips: Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Place the Brie on a parchment-lined baking sheet or in a small baking dish. Spread the fig jam over the top and sprinkle with the toasted walnuts. Bake for 10-15 minutes until the Brie is soft and gooey.
  • Serving: Allow the Brie to cool slightly before serving to prevent it from being too runny. This also helps the flavors to meld together beautifully.
  • Extras: For added flavor, sprinkle a few dried cranberries or chopped fresh figs on top before baking. A sprig of fresh rosemary or thyme can also be baked with the Brie for additional aroma.
