Tips and Notes
- Walnuts: Use fresh, high-quality walnuts for the best flavor. Ideally, choose young green walnuts for a more intense and aromatic infusion.
- Spirits: Choose a neutral spirit like vodka or a slightly sweeter option like brandy to complement the walnuts without overpowering them.
- Sweetness: Adjust the sugar level according to your preference. You can use granulated sugar or experiment with brown sugar for added depth.
- Infusion Time: Allow the mixture to steep for at least 4-6 weeks to develop the flavors fully. The longer it sits, the more pronounced the walnut flavor becomes.
- Storage: Store your Homemade Walnut Liqueur in a sealed bottle in a cool, dark place or the refrigerator for up to 1 year. Shake well before serving to mix the flavors.
